Convicted Hamline prof: An expert only when necessary?

Hamline University law professor Robin Magee has been convicted of failing to file state tax returns for four years, the Pioneer Press reports.

Plain enough.

But Magee had apparently played the it's-all-so-complicated card, telling investigators she didn't understand tax law and didn't have her tax papers organized, the paper writes.

The kicker? She'd actually practiced tax law and criminal law before joining Hamline, a prosecutor said at the trial.
