Allegiant Airlines suspends Duluth-Orlando service

Duluth is among the cities where Allegiant Airlines is making cuts because of rising fuel costs.
The airline says it will temporarily suspend twice weekly service to Orlando. Allegiant president Andrew Levy hopes those direct flights will be restored by Thanksgiving.
The cutback comes despite a nearly 50 percent increase in traffic on Allegiant flights to and from Orlando and Las Vegas in 2010.
Levy tells the Duluth News Tribune that jet fuel costs have increased 25 to 30 percent.
