Panel recommends suspension of Minnesota judge

The state Board on Judicial Standards is recommending a Hennepin County judge be suspended and censured following an ethics investigation.

The panel is recommending to the Minnesota Supreme Court that Judge Patricia Kerr Karasov be suspended for 90 days for living outside of her judicial district.

Karasov denied that she was living in a Chisago County home from July to September 2009 while serving as a Hennepin County judge. That would be a violation of the Minnesota Constitution. Karasov also disputed accusations that she failed to cooperate with the investigation.

Karasov did not immediately respond to a phone call seeking comment.
