State trooper hurt in car crash in Minneapolis

A Minnesota state trooper is injured after a driver rear-ended his squad car while the trooper was making a traffic stop.

The State Patrol says the crash happened after 8 p.m. Saturday on Interstate 94 near 42nd Avenue North in Minneapolis. Authorities say the driver of a van lost control and slammed into the back of the squad car.

State Patrol Capt. Matt Langer says the driver of the van might have had a medical condition.

The trooper suffered minor injuries. The driver of the van was taken to the hospital with injuries that were not life-threatening.
