Twenty-nine nonfaculty employees at St. Cloud State University -- a good many of them clerical workers -- have accepted early retirement deals as part of a move to cut $14 million from the budget, the St. Cloud Times reports.
The university had issued 86 early-retirement offers (the 100 reported earlier by the paper appears to be incorrect), and had expected about 20 acceptances.
Update: A university spokesman said an early retirement offer for one more person is pending.
