Herff Jones sells photo division to Lifetouch

Lifetouch of Eden Prairie plans to buy the photography division of Herff Jones.

The Indianapolis-based company has a photography facility in Lewiston. Lifetouch executive Kelvin Miller says the company plans to offer jobs to Herff Jones photo division employees and keep a sales office open in Lewiston.

Herff Jones President Joe Slaughter says the decision to sell the photography division is driven by a strategic plan to focus on other business interests. The company also produces scholastic recognition, graduation-related items and education materials.

KAGE reports terms of the deal were not disclosed. The sale is expected to close in May.
