Foreclosures in Minnesota decline in first three months of '11

HousingLink, an organization that tracks foreclosures in Minnesota, found a significant decline in foreclosures in Minnesota in the first three months of this year compared to last year.

While still at historic highs, statewide foreclosures fell to 5,364, down 21 percent from the first quarter of 2010.

The decline was sharper in greater Minnesota. In the seven-county metro area, foreclosures fell 19 percent during that period.

A few counties in the state saw year-over-year increases in foreclosures, including Wadena, Yellow Medicine, and Lincoln.
