Woman gets 4 years for providing lethal drug
A woman is sentenced to four years in prison for providing the narcotic that resulted in the death of a Fort Ripley man.
Jason Ramsdell died in February 2010 after taking Fentanyl, a powerful painkiller. He bought the drug from 57-year-old Patricia Taylor of Browerville. She had a prescription for injuries suffered in a car accident.
Ramsdell's family shared fond memories of him during a sentencing hearing Monday in Morrison County. His fiancee, Laura Miller, said the loss of a loved one can't be quantified in numbers. Miller says she and Ramsdell had a future, a life plan, until he died at age 27.
Taylor will get credit for nearly 14 months she has already served in the Morrison County Jail.
