Officials: 6 killed in blaze at New Ulm inn

New Ulm police and fire officials say the death toll in a massive fire at a southern Minnesota inn has reached six.

The blaze engulfed the Bohemian Bed & Breakfast house early Saturday.

Authorities did not identify the victims, but family members confirmed three of the victims were a mother and her two daughters. The cause of the fire is under investigation.

Fire Chief Paul Macho says four people escaped after the fire was discovered around 1:45 a.m. He tells The Journal of New Ulm (http://bit.ly/lZcvWo ) eight people were believed to be in the house, but it's possible that more people had arrived to take shelter from Friday's storm.

Macho says there was so much damage inside that it was difficult for firefighters to make their way through the inn.
