Q&A: Owner and CEO of Pearson's

The maker of the Salted Nut Roll and the Nut Goodie candy bars has been sold once again.

Pearson's, which operates a plant along West 7th Street in St. Paul has been sold to Brynwood Partners, a private equity firm based in Connecticut.

The new owner plans to keep the St. Paul plant operating in the spot it's occupied for 102 years, and has hired a Dairy Queen executive to run the company.

Pearson's current owner and CEO Larry Hassler started looking for a buyer last year. Hassler speaks with Minnesota Public Radio.
