A Minnesota soldier from Lengby who died in Afghanistan will be laid to rest on Saturday in Fosston.
Gov. Mark Dayton has ordered all U.S. and state flags at government buildings to be flown at half-staff to honor Sgt. Matthew Allen Harmon.
The 29-year-old Fosston High School graduate was killed on Aug. 14 in Afghanistan after being injured by an improvised explosive device. Harmon served two tours of duty in Iraq and had recently been deployed to Afghanistan.
Harmon is survived by his wife and three children, parents, sister, brothers and other relatives.
Dayton issued a proclamation recognizing Harmon's sacrifice and extending gratitude and prayers to his family and friends.
