Man pleads guilty in fatal shooting over Facebook photos

HASTINGS, Minn. (AP) - An eastern Minnesota man has pleaded guilty in a deadly shooting that prosecutors say was sparked by an argument over Facebook photos.

Forty-seven-year-old Robert Michael Thomas Sr., of Burnsville, entered the plea to second-degree manslaughter Wednesday in Dakota County District Court.

Thomas allegedly shot 38-year-old James Edward Koenig on Jan. 23 over a dispute about Koenig posing shirtless while Thomas' 13-year-old son took photos of him for Facebook.

The St. Paul Pioneer Press reports (http://bit.ly/nbC6ks) Thomas agreed to a plea deal with the county attorney's office and charges of second-degree murder, intentional discharge of a firearm and reckless discharge of a firearm will be dismissed.

Thomas' sentencing is scheduled for Oct. 27.
