Transportation Secretary Ray LaHood promotes jobs bill in Minn.

The Obama administration's push for a jobs bill comes to St. Paul on Monday with a visit from U.S. Transportation Secretary Ray LaHood aimed at promoting transportation projects.

LaHood and Federal Transit Administrator Peter Rogoff will stop at Union Depot for a press conference alongside DFL Gov. Mark Dayton.

Then they'll then make their way to International Falls, where Dayton is holding a regional economic development summit at Rainy River Community College.

The summit's panel will include members of Minnesota's congressional delegation, along with local officials, businessmen and educators.

Dayton's staff says the summit is aimed at gathering ideas on job creation from Minnesotans. They say they also want to put a national spotlight on Minnesota's economic development opportunities.

The summit is open to the public.
