Doleman to be inducted in Vikings Ring of Honor

EDEN PRAIRIE, Minn. (AP) - The Minnesota Vikings will induct former defensive end Chris Doleman into the team's Ring of Honor on Oct. 23.

Doleman will become the 19th member of the prestigious club. The induction will come at halftime of the Vikings game against the Green Bay Packers at Mall of America Field.

Doleman ended his 15-year NFL career with 150.5 sacks, the 4th-most in NFL history, and 8 interceptions. He ranks 7th in NFL history with 24 career defensive fumble recoveries. Doleman led the NFL in 1989 with 21.0 sacks and earned a spot on the 1990's NFL Team of the Decade.

He went to six Pro Bowls as a Viking. Doleman went on to play for Atlanta and San Francisco before coming out of retirement to play his final season with the Vikings in 1999.
