Minn. man pleads guilty to making fake stamps
A Prior Lake man faces up to five years in prison after pleading guilty to manufacturing counterfeit postage meter stamps.
Thirty-one-year-old Andre George Mehilove pleaded guilty Monday in federal court to one count of manufacturing counterfeit postage stamps.
In his plea agreement, Mehilove admitted that from August 2006 through early April 2009, he created the counterfeit stamps using his personal computer and printer. Prosecutors say the stamps were copies of postage meter stamps he had bought online.
Mehilove also admitted he used those counterfeit stamps to mail items, and also admitted he sold those counterfeit stamps online.
A sentencing hearing has not been scheduled yet.
