1 dead, 1 injured in north Minneapolis shooting

A man was killed and a woman critically wounded after someone shot at a car in north Minneapolis.

Police say they were called to the intersection of Plymouth and Washington Avenues Saturday evening on a report of a car accident. But Sgt. John Sullivan says officers arrived and realized it was a shooting.

There were no immediate arrests. Sullivan says the woman had surgery and was in critical condition Sunday with a gunshot wound to the head.

The Star Tribune reports that about two weeks ago, another shooting in north Minneapolis involved a victim in a car. That incident at 43rd and Girard Avenues was also reported as a traffic crash.

In that case, 36-year-old Steven Meyer, of Eden Prairie, died of a gunshot wound to the abdomen.
