Gov. Mark Dayton says he intends to take a trade mission to China next spring or summer.
He was initially scheduled to travel to China last August, but canceled the trip after the state government shut down in July. Dayton said he'd like to visit China to help market the state's businesses, like agriculture and biotechnology.
"These are good opportunities to open doors," he said. "China is a major trading partner and an increased export market for our state so that's the reason we should go there next."
Dayton's first trade mission was to Japan and South Korea earlier this fall.
