19-year-old dies in Minn. goose hunting accident

DANUBE, Minn. (AP) -- Authorities are investigating the death of a 19-year-old man in a goose hunting accident near the southern Minnesota town of Danube.

The Renville County sheriff's office says it got a 911 call on the shooting around 9:45 a.m. Saturday. Emergency responders arrived to find a man with a single gunshot wound. He died at the scene.

Sheriff Scott Hable says a group of hunters had been hunting geese together about a half mile north of Danube when one of the hunter's guns accidentally discharged, striking the victim. None of the other hunters were injured.

The victim's name was still being withheld Sunday until notification of family was complete.
