Police blame 15 year old in deadly four-car crash

WILLMAR, Minn. (AP) -- Authorities say a four-vehicle crash that killed one man and injured six people in Kandiyohi County over the weekend was caused by a driver who is 15 years old.

Because of the teen's age, the Minnesota State Patrol has not released the teen's name, hometown or injury status.

The accident happened Saturday about noon near Willmar. The State Patrol says the teen's SUV failed to stop for a red light and crashed into a pickup truck, which rolled onto two other vehicles.

A passenger in one of those vehicles was 29-year-old Justin Gustafson of Redwood Falls. He died at the scene. His 50-year-old father, John Gustafson, was taken a hospital in critical condition.

A St. Paul Pioneer Press report says five others suffered non-life-threatening injuries.
