Amtrak's Empire Builder strikes vehicle in Wis.

TOWN OF IXONIA, Wis. (AP) -- An Amtrak train has struck a vehicle at a railroad crossing in Wisconsin's Jefferson County.

The Milwaukee Journal Sentinel reports no information was immediately available on the vehicle's occupants.

Amtrak spokeswoman Vernae Graham says no one was hurt aboard the westbound Empire Builder, which was carrying 326 passengers, plus crew members, on its daily trip between Chicago and Seattle.

Graham says the collision happened in the Town of Ixonia about 4:30 p.m. Thursday. As of 6 p.m., she says the train was still stopped at the scene while local authorities investigated the crash.
