St. Paul police officer shoots at allegedly armed suspects

A St Paul police officer has been placed on standard three-day administrative leave after firing shots at suspects this morning on the city's north side.

Officials say just before 9 a.m. the officer saw a car that matched the description of one involved in recent shootings. Police say the officer stopped the vehicle, and one of the two men inside displayed a gun. He allegedly ignored the officer's demands to drop the weapon.

The officer fired his gun and the suspect with the gun ran. Police say neither of the suspects was struck. Both were apprehended and arrested with the help of other officers.
