Man in ND cornfield standoff pleads guilty

A North Dakota man who hid in a cornfield and kept authorities at bay for 11 hours has pleaded guilty to four felony charges.

The Forum newspaper reports that 22-year-old Dylan Pederson of Fargo pleaded guilty to terrorizing, reckless endangerment, fleeing police and preventing arrest. He faces up to five years in prison on each count when he's sentenced March 5.

Judge Steven McCullough ordered a psychological evaluation for Pederson, who defense attorney Monte Mertz says has a history of struggles with emotional and psychological issues.

Authorities say Pederson fled into the cornfield north of Fargo on Sept. 28 after a pellet gun incident in a car with his girlfriend. Authorities arrested him after a lengthy search that involved two helicopters and an airplane, and more than 50 people.
