North Dakota Gov. Jack Dalrymple has been asked to remove the Pembina County prosecutor from office.
A complaint against State's Attorney Stuart Askew says he's skipped county commission meetings and ignored requests for help in preparing search warrants. It says Askew treats county employees with contempt.
The complaint says Askew hasn't bothered to prosecute cases where people allegedly tried to bring drugs across the Canadian border.
It says Askew neglected a sex offender case, and another case of an involuntary commitment for mental illness.
North Dakota law gives Dalrymple power to remove some elected officials from office for wrongdoing, or if they're not doing their jobs.
