Q&A: Paul Fleissner of Olmsted County on state mandates

As this year's state legislative session convenes, there likely will be many constituents who ask lawmakers for more.

But there's a group of municipalities and counties that hope for fewer state mandates.

Three organizations that represent local governments in the state have released a report saying that government services like health and human services, education and public safety can be improved if state leaders take steps toward more collaboration and innovation.

Paul Fleissner director of Community Services for Olmsted County, spoke with MPR on the issue.
