Walker man stabbed to death in Longville area

LONGVILLE, Minn. (AP) -- Cass County authorities are investigating the stabbing death of a Walker man in the Longville area of northern Minnesota.

Sheriff Tom Burch said in a statement Sunday that deputies responded to a report of a stabbing in the Longville area shortly after midnight. The victim died at the Crosby Hospital, where he later died. His identity is being withheld pending notification of family members.

The sheriff says the suspect, a 23-year-old Longville man, was arrested a short time later in the Longville area and is being held in the Cass County jail pending charges.

The sheriff says the incident remains under investigation and an autopsy is pending.

Longville is about 20 miles southeast of Walker.
