Stolen computer returned to brain-injured woman

ST. PAUL, Minn. (AP) -- The family of a brain-injured St. Paul woman says it's a miracle a stolen computer she uses to communicate has been returned to her.

The computer is valued at nearly $8,000 and was taken from outside Lynda Swenson's house as her mother helped her board a bus to Midwest Special Services last Friday. The computer is programmed with words and phrases which the 38-year-old woman uses to communicate.

The computer was discovered by a man in his yard about four blocks away. The computer shows the Swenson's address, so he was able to return it to Lynda days later.

Vicki Swenson tells the St. Paul Pioneer Press she just screamed when the man showed up with her daughter's computer.
