Man, 45, dies in NE Minnesota snowmobile crash

A snowmobiler has died after crashing into a tree on a trail in northeastern Minnesota.

The St. Louis County sheriff's office says the 45-year-old man struck the tree about 6:30 p.m. Saturday on the Bill Morgan Trail near Orr.

The man suffered severe head injuries. Emergency crews tried to revive him but he died at the scene.

The Mesabi Daily News reports the victim's name was not released.
