Former officer pleads guilty in fatal Minn. bar shooting
A former Chisholm police officer has pleaded guilty to murder charges in a bar shooting that left one man dead and two others wounded.
Jason Musburger entered the pleas Thursday, four days before his trial was scheduled to begin. A criminal complaint says Musburger walked into Jim's Sports Bar & Grill in Chisholm with two fully-loaded handguns in March 2010 and shot three men seated at a table with his ex-wife. Edward Walberg was killed. Cale Nelson and Larry Elj were injured.
Musburger pleaded guilty to intentional second-degree murder, attempted first-degree murder and attempted second-degree murder. The 49-year-old Musburger is being held in the St. Louis County Jail on $3 million bond. The Duluth News Tribune says sentencing is set for April 5.
