ND man found dead near MN tracks was Amtrak rider

Authorities say a North Dakota man found dead along railroad tracks in western Minnesota was a passenger on an Amtrak train bound for Chicago.

The Forum newspaper reports Clay County Sheriff Bill Bergquist confirmed that 27-year-old Jared Nilles of Fargo was a passenger but said authorities still do not know how the man died.

Nilles' body was found between the Clay County towns of Glyndon and Hawley on Monday morning, and autopsy results are still pending. Bergquist says authorities also are checking with Amtrak officials to determine whether the train had security cameras.
