Authorities in McLeod County are mystified over a child's tombstone that was found three years ago and apparently dates back more than a century.
Sheriff's officials have been trying to identify the tombstone, with no luck. They're hoping the public can provide some clues.
The white, weathered gravestone turned up in a farm driveway near Hutchinson in 2009. It's etched with the words ``Unser Kind,'' which means ``our child'' in German. There's no legible name on it.
Experts estimate it's at least 100 years old.
A KARE-TV report says authorities have been working with the county recorder's office and the local historical society to figure out its history but they're still baffled.
Anyone with information is asked to call the McLeod County sheriff at 320-864-1713.
