Two injured in collision with school bus

Plymouth police say two people were injured this morning when a school bus serving Robbinsdale and Wayzata schools collided with a car at an intersection.

Sgt. Curtis Smith said the bus was headed north on Vicksburg Lane around 7:20 a.m. when a 2006 Nissan Sentra driven by a 16-year-old girl heading west on 57th Avenue turned left into the bus' lane. The bus broadsided the driver's side of the car.

The collision injured the girl and her mother, who was a passenger. They were taken to a hospital. Smith said the extent of their injuries was unclear. Police have not released the names of either driver.

Smith said it is unclear how many children were in the bus, but he said none of the kids were hurt.
