Sex assault case against billionaire on hold

RACINE, Wis. (AP) -- A judge has put a hold on the sexual assault case against Wisconsin billionaire Curt Johnson.

Johnson's trial had been scheduled to start Monday in Racine County. But the Wisconsin attorney general's office on Monday asked the Court of Appeals to stay the case from proceeding. The state has about two weeks to ask the Wisconsin Supreme Court to review a recent Court of Appeals decision.

Johnson's family has run SC Johnson for five generations. The 56-year-old is accused of sexually abusing a girl over several years. She's now 17 but was between sixth and seventh grade when it allegedly happened.

The Journal Times reports a hearing on the status of the case is scheduled for June 8.
