HASTINGS, Minn. (AP) -- A dog owner has a neighbor to thank for resuscitating one of three pets pulled from a house fire in Hastings.
Firefighters rescued two dogs and a rabbit from the burning house Monday. The homeowners were away. Neighbor Tara Mauch jumped in to help when she saw one of the dogs was struggling to breathe after it was rescued from the fire.
The Hastings Star Gazette says Mauch began giving the dog mouth-to-mouth resuscitation. The dogs were then taken to a veterinarian clinic for care.
