Fargo students evacuated on bomb threat

FARGO, N.D. (AP) -- Police in Fargo locked down a school building and then evacuated students Tuesday afternoon after separate reports of a bomb threat and a shot fired.

Superintendent Rick Buresh tells The Forum that Agassiz School officials received a bomb threat at about 1:45 p.m.

Lt. Joel Vettel says a short time later, police received a report of a shot fired in the area, not in the school, and officials initially reacted under the assumption there was a shooter in the area.

The school was evacuated and parents were told they can pick up students at South High School, where they were taken by bus.

Vettel says police are sweeping the building to make sure there isn't a bomb inside.
