MN nurse sentenced for stealing drugs

MINNEAPOLIS (AP) -- A Twin Cities nurse has been sentenced to a year in prison for stealing narcotics from patients.

Forty-year-old Bert Allen Sieler of Coon Rapids was sentenced Tuesday in federal court on one count of obtaining a controlled substance by fraud. He pleaded guilty last September.

Sieler worked at a senior care assisted living facility. In his plea agreement, he admitted that in February 2011, he obtained Percocet intended for patients by removing it from medication bottles and replacing it was acetaminophen, commonly sold as Tylenol.

Sieler was taken into custody following Tuesday's hearing
