The St. Paul Pioneer Press reports the 22-year-old was Miss Northwest, representing the Detroit Lakes area, at the Miss Minnesota Scholarship Pageant at Eden Prairie High School through Saturday night.
She's a nursing junior at the University of Minnesota and says she intends to eventually earn a doctorate in cardiovascular research.
She competed against 21 other women. The fourth runner-up was Miss West Metro Bethany Beniek; third runner-up, Miss St. Paul Elizabeth Sciopioni; second runner-up, Miss Coon Rapids Samantha Phillippi; and first runner-up, Miss Brainerd Lakes Rebecca Yeh.
The pageant was the official preliminary for the Miss America Pageant. Freeh will compete for the Miss America crown in January in Las Vegas.
