St. Paul stroke victim's wheelchair stolen
ST. PAUL, Minn. (AP) -- A 30-year-old St. Paul woman left partially paralyzed by a stroke says her wheelchair was stolen from outside her home.
Melanie Grell tells the St. Paul Pioneer Press that she was heading to the store Monday morning when she heard her dog barking inside the house. She went back to check, and left her wheelchair outside her back door.
Grell can walk slowly with a cane, but mostly uses the electric wheelchair to get around since her stroke last September. She says was only in her house for about 10 minutes.
St. Paul Police are asking the public to call in if they come across an unattended wheelchair.
