Medicaid expansion is already underway in Minnesota

The decision by the U.S. Supreme Court last week that the Affordable Care Act is Constitutional means the law will continue to be implemented.

The court did strike down part of the legislation, ruling that the federal government can't withhold funding for a state's existing Medicaid program if that state does not expand Medicaid as dictated by the law.

Since the court's ruling, we've been reviewing key provisions of the Affordable Care Act and how the law is affecting people in Minnesota.

MPR's Phil Picardi spoke with Minnesota Public Radio news health care reform reporter Elizabeth Stawicki about the section of the legislation that deals with Medicaid.
