Four law enforcement officers in Chisago County are on paid leave after a sheriff's deputy shot and killed a man in North Branch on Sunday.
Robert Elias Aho, 46, was shot twice by Deputy Steven Gregory Husmann after officers responded to a 911 call that Aho was allegedly was threatening his wife.
BCA spokesperson Jill Oliveira said investigating BCA agents were told that Aho was carrying two guns when he walked out of the house.
"Law enforcement repeatedly told him to put the weapons down," Oliveira said. "We're told that when he did not, and then lowered one of the weapons in the direction of the officers, one of the officers opened fire and fatally struck the individual."
Oliveira says the results of the BCA investigation will be presented to the office of the Chisago County Attorney.
Husmann, two other sheriff's deputies and one North Branch police officer are on paid leave due to the incident.
