Best Buy says it has recruited 50 smaller online retailers to sell goods through its website.
Products from those business partners show up when people search the consumer electronics retailer's online store.
Ray Stacey oversees the initiative, which Best Buy launched about a year ago.
"Our expanded assortment capability has essentially increased our assortment to our customers four to five times," Stacey says. "Our customers are now finding products on the Best Buy site that may not have found previously. If they decide to purchase that product from one of our marketplace seller partners, Best Buy also benefits from that transaction as well."
Stacey says it has quadrupled the assortment of products available online. Currently, there's no overlap between what Best Buy and the 50 retailers sell on the site.
Best Buy says its online sales says have been growing. But the retailer does not disclose those sales figures.
