Democrat Tarryl Clark continues to spend more than primary rivals Rick Nolan and Jeff Anderson in northeastern Minnesota's 8th District.
Clark spent $225,000 in the first 25 days of July, compared to $33,000 for Nolan and $19,000 for Anderson, according to federal campaign finance reports. All three candidates are running TV ads, but Clark has been on the air longer than the others.
The winner of the Aug. 14 primary will challenge Republican Rep. Chip Cravaack in November.
Clark collected $65,000 in the 3-1/2-week period, with $100,000 left in the bank about three weeks before the primary.
Nolan brought in $27,000 and had $88,000 to spend, while Anderson was far behind after raising $8,000 and ending the period with $7,000 in the bank.
Cravaack has $916,000 to spend on his re-election bid.
