A 28-year-old Cass Lake man is accused of kidnapping and kicking a girl on northern Minnesota's Red Lake Indian Reservation.
A federal indictment charges Robert Elliot Roybal Jr. with two counts of kidnapping and one count of assault with a dangerous weapon.
Prosecutors allege that Roybal kidnapped a girl under the age of 18 on June 26, 2010. The indictment also alleges that Roybal assaulted the girl by kicking her.
The indictment was unsealed Wednesday after Roybal made his first court appearance.
A home phone number for Roybal could not be found. Online court records do not list a defense attorney.
