MN student dies after van rear-ends bus
Byron Public Schools are offering grief counselors to students and staff after a 17-year-old student died when her minivan rear-ended a school bus.
Olmsted County Sheriff's Sgt. Tom Claymon says Deianerah Logan of Pine Island struck the back of the bus Tuesday afternoon as it stopped to let a student off on a county road.
Firefighters pulled the van from under the bus and extricated Logan from the vehicle. A Mayo Clinic helicopter flew her to Saint Marys Hospital in Rochester, where she died.
Logan - nicknamed "Deej" - was a student at Byron Public Schools in southeastern Minnesota.
