Minnesota farmers are already harvesting this year's corn crop

In a number of Midwestern states, this summer's drought has been devastating for farmers. But the U-S Department of Agriculture is predicting that Minnesota will be the country's leading corn producer this year.

Most of the state got enough rain to keep crops healthy, but some areas weren't as fortunate. Many farmers in southwestern Minnesota have seen their crops wither and die.

MPR's Cathy Wurzer speaks with University of Minnesota crop educator, Liz Stahl, about how farmer's are coping with the drought.
