Despite a decrease in average flights, there continue to be 1,000 incidents a year in which a plane or other vehicle gets on an active runway, according to an article in The New York Times.
We'll look at why this persists as such a serious problem and whether pilots or air-traffic control are to blame for the incidents. What can be done and what is the state of general airline safety today?
