Mpls South High was in lockdown

Minneapolis South high school was on lockdown today because of an unspecified concern.

Parents of South High School students received an e-mail and automated call from Principal Cecilia Saddler Wednesday morning, which said the school is on code yellow lockdown because of a "concern in our school community."

Class instruction continued as usual, but students remained in their classrooms during class periods. Students were also not allowed to leave school during lunch or during open hours.

About 2,000 students attend South High School, which is located four miles south of downtown Minneapolis.
