Minn man says he killed 2 alleged intruders

LITTLE FALLS, Minn. (AP) -- A Morrison County man has been arrested after he told police he shot and killed two teenagers who allegedly broke into his house.

The sheriff's department says police visited the 64-year-old man's home Friday afternoon near Little Falls. Officers say he immediately confessed to killing two people about noon the previous day.

Deputies found the bodies of an 18-year-old woman and a 17-year-old boy in his basement.

The Minnesota Bureau of Criminal Apprehension says information discovered during the investigation led authorities to arrest him for second-degree murder.

Morrison County Sheriff Michel Wetzel says people have every right to defend themselves and their homes, but circumstances suggest that the man went beyond that point.

A KARE-TV report says the man is scheduled to make an initial court appearance Monday.
