Bobby Vee displays art at Minn. gallery

ST. JOSEPH, Minn. (AP) -- Former 1960s teen idol Bobby Vee is displaying his paintings this weekend at a central Minnesota art gallery.

Vee has been painting for his own enjoyment for many years. He decided to debut some of his work at The Satellite Gallery in St. Joseph.

The gallery will have digitally reproduced signed prints available. Sale proceeds go to the Bobby Vee Foundation for the Arts.

Vee announced last May that he's been diagnosed with Alzheimer's disease.

He is still recording and is about to release his latest CD, "The Adobe Sessions -- with Family & Friends."
