A 21-year-old St. Paul man has been charged with two counts of criminal vehicular homicide after an early Friday morning car wreck killed two passengers in his car.
The complaint filed today in Ramsey County District Court says Teng Vang was believed to be speeding 30 miles over the speed limit when his Honda Civic went through a stop sign at Arlington Avenue and Hazelwood Street in St. Paul and hit a parked Dodge Dakota pickup truck after 2 a.m. Friday.
Chue Vue, 28, and Tou Vue, 29 were in the car's backseat. They were pronounced dead at the scene. A fourth person in car, identified in the complaint as "CY," was taken to Regions Hospital in St. Paul with non life-threatening injuries.
As he was being transported in the ambulance to Regions Hospital, Vang told police, "I was drinking at the Moonshine. I had about five Bud Light beers," according to the complaint. His blood test will be analyzed by the Minnesota Bureau of Criminal Apprehension.
The complaint says Vang has a prior misdemeanor DWI conviction in Ramsey County.
