Power restored to downtown Minneapolis

Power has been restored to 134 customers in downtown Minneapolis after an underground fire led to an outage after 6 a.m. Friday.

Power was back on by 8 a.m.

U.S. West and Ameriprise Financial were among the businesses affected, as well as Hennepin County Medical Center, which used backup generators during the outage.

A news release from the city of Minneapolis said most city traffic signals are now back online. Until all are back to normal, the city asks drivers to be patient and use caution.
